Oakland County, Michigan - cougar sighting.
Reported Sun, Apr 8, 2012 at 10:48 PM to www.savethecougar.org
Date of Observation: 4/8/2012
Time: 10:00 pm
County: Oakland
Sighting Description:
My wife and I were pulling up our driveway and our headlights illuminated the trees at our properties edge. We observed the profile of a cougar that was walking between the second and third spruce tree and slowly walked out of the view of the headlights.WE got out of the car. The cougar seemed to be tan with a lighter underbelly and long thick tail. I would guess it to be 3 1/2 to 4 ft long without the tail and maybe 2 to 2 1/2 ft off the ground. We are going to check for prints tomorrow morning if it does not rain. Now we know why our cat has been going crazy at night looking out our back sliding doors.
