The following was reported to savethecougar.org on 6/23/08:

"When did the observation occur?
Date of Observation: 6-22-08

Where did the observation occur?
County: Kent
Location Description:

Sighting Description:
A neighbor came over early this afternoon and told us that her husband has seen a cougar go across property by us. Several members in her family have heard growling and loud noises. When they called the DNR they were told we DIDN'T have cougars in MI. REALLY? Then WHY this site? WHY the apparent cover up? WE have several children in this rural area and honestly...we've had a Black Bear why NOT a cougar too? We have coyotes and badgers. So WHAT are we to believe?"
