Just west of Butternut Dr. on Ransom St. in Park Township north of Holland in Ottawa County. Second sighting!! I was traveling west on Ransom St. at 8:20 p.m. it was very dark. All of a sudden we saw some very large green cat eyes in the ditch just to the south of Ransom St. We passed the cat and my wife exclaimed "That was a cougar!" Amazing that this was the second time I had seen a cougar in the area. So glad that my wife witnessed it this time. The first was a few weeks ea rlier near Butternut and New Holland St. We turned the car around and shone the lights back to the ditch where we had seen just the animals head. The ditch was between the road and a blueberry field, it was about 2 to 3 feet deep. We scanned the ditch and the blueberry field but did not see the cougar again. The next morning my father went to where we had seen the cougar and found paw prints that were aprox. 3 1/2" wide and 14" apart.
