Sighting Description:
I have a cottage on Gulliver Lake. Once in the fall of 2007, and again in midsummer, 2008 I spotted a cougar crossing the road on the south side of Gulliver Lake. Same location both times, crossing north to south. The cougar crossed casually, heading away from the shoreline. Was late morning on both occasions. I was driving when it crossed perhaps 100 yards in front of me, same distance away both times. I only caught the glimpse, but definitely a large cat(German Shepard size)with a long, heavy feline tail. Appeared black the first time, maybe because of the angle of the sun, tawny the second time. I'm happy to finally hear the DNR confirm sightings in this area.
