Livingston County, Michigan - cougar sighted.
Reported Sun 10/4/2009 5:17 AM to www.savethecougar.org
Date of Observation: 10-4-2009
Time: 3:00 AM
County: Livingston
Location Description: Mile Marker 135 West bound I-96 Howell
Sighting Description:
I was traveling west bound on I-96 at mile marker 135, to the right of me on the shoulder just off of the pavement was a cougar. I was highly aware of deer activity being the begining of bow season and had seen several deer on the shoulder in the 20 miles traveled prior to seeing the cougar. It stood facing me and very clearly was a cougar, not another animal, and turned sideways and walked approx. 15 feet giving me a full side view. It was approx. 24"-30" tall, brown on top and light on the underbelly, had the dark outlined upper lips, white whiskers, the tail was exceptionally thick and seemed disproportionatley long. |
