|Kalamazoo County, Michigan - cougar sighting.
Reported Mon, Dec 19, 2011 at 12:51 PM to www.savethecougar.org
Date of Observation: late summer 2006
Location Description: crossing 19 mile rd just west of M66 (30th ave)
My husband was driving and we were headed west on Milham (divided road). I was looking at the landscape and caught a glimpse of it through a break in the tall grass. I saw it's head, part of it's shoulder and hindquarters/tail. It looked to be turning around in a circle as animals do when they are ready to lay down. For a moment I was speechless, and when I was able to speak I said "That was a cougar!" My husband turned around and we drove back by hoping to catch another glimpse but to no avail. It was about 2 1/2 feet tall, under it's belly was white and golden color elsewhere. I thought about reporting it but didn't know who to report it to because the DNR was not acknowledging these sightings.
