Date of Observation: 10/02/2011
Location Description: McDonald's parking lot!
We were ordering our Mcdonald's food in Dundee, Michigan. We at first thought it was a stray dog, but 3 seconds later realized we were looking at a cougar. It was about knee hight, 6 feet long or more with the tail, about 4 feet long without the tail. It was bright almond colored, no spots or markings, all one color. It came from the north brush, walked into t he small parking area at the NW corner of the parking lot, "smelled" some car tires and scattered trash on the ground, and walked into the west side brush. Sighting was about 45 seconds. Afterwards, I went to the area to see if we could see more of the cat, but it was nowhere to be found. There were wet footprints about the size of a closed fist on the pavement, but no noticeable tracks on the ground that I could find. Cat was not 10 feet from where the workers go to take smoke breaks.
