Date of Observation: 7-12-2008
Time: 2:30 pm
Location Description: Sterling off of jefferson road on my property.
I usually go for a walk with my dogs everyday up north. i have 2 coon dogs and one day while walking around the 5 acre pond in the back of my property i usually go coon hunting out there and while walking my dogs ran ahead of me and about 100 yds away i could hear them barking. i thought maybe they had chased some animal up a tree. i didn't have a weapon on me so no matter what i couldn't do anything about it. so i called my dogs off and i walked over to the area where they were barking and i heard something run off and it crossed the trail and it was a black cougar abou t 100lbs and its tail was about as long as its body. i told my neighbor about it and about a month later he saw it creeping around his pigeon coop. I have seen it a couple times since then at night while coon hunting but its got plenty of food around there such as deer and other animals. It likes to lay in a big oak tree by the pond.
