|Ottawa County, Michigan - cougar sighting.
Reported Mon, Sep 5, 2011 at 7:55 AM to www.savethecougar.org
Date of Observation: 8/16/2011
Time: 6:30 am
Location Description: M-45 and 112th Ave
I was heading east on M-45 like I do every morning going into work. I had just passed over 112th Ave when I spotted something dead in the road, then my eyes where drawn to something standing in the ditch a few yard ahead. My first though was a small deer since it was shorter and about the same color, then it crossed the road in front of me. I knew this was no deer. It like pounced across the road in front of my car as my head light hit it, into a yard it went. At that time I got a better look at it. I knew what it was as soon as I saw that long tale. In shock I turned my car around and went back to the yard it had ran into to see if maybe it was lurking in the bushes. It was still hard to see at 6:30 in the morning so needless to say the cougar had moved on. I stopped on my way home to let the people know what I had seen in their yard earlier that morning. The home owner and I looked for any sign of the cat but we found none.
